Our first location was on the main street of Collingwood when Collingwood native and Ontario Veterinary College graduate, Dr. Jacquie Pankatz, opened Harbourview Veterinary Hospital in 2000. The name paid homage to our rich history of shipbuilding and the importance of the Collingwood harbour to our community. As time went by, the demand for space and the need for additional team members grew. Dr. Jacquie's vision to build a brand new state-of-the-art veterinary hospital became reality when Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital (MVVH) opened its doors in 2007 in its current location on Poplar Sideroad, centrally located to provide veterinary services in Collingwood, Blue Mountain, Wasaga Beach, Clearview, and the southern Georgian Bay region.  With a new view to the west of the local ski hills, the practice was given its current name and the rest is history. Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital is now a multi-vet practice with a highly-skilled and compassionate professional team. Our passion for pets and veterinary medicine is reflected in our collaborative and interdisciplinary approach,  drive for lifelong learning,  and determination to seek new ways to enhance the quality of life for our patients. We are constantly investing in ourselves and in new technology to bring to Collingwood and the surrounding area the latest in veterinary medicine. We further expanded our hospital with the opening of the region's first pet rehabilitation and hydrotherapy center in 2022. Collingwood Active Pets, or CAPS for short, was designed out of the desire to increase pet health and well-being through the enhancement of post-surgical healing and bringing to light modern advancements in pet pain control and mobility. For pets, pain-free mobility is essential for their quality of life.

Our beautiful region is truly nature's playground and what better way to enjoy life in Southern Georgian Bay than with a pet (or two) by your side.  We are honoured to serve this very special community and warmly welcome new patients to our practice. We also gladly accept referrals from other veterinary clinics that require our advanced surgical, diagnostic and rehabilitation services.
