Where Passion meets Veterinary Medicine
We Have Everything To Keep Your Pet Healthy
Proudly locally owned and operated since 2000
We are a full service small animal veterinary hospital located in beautiful Collingwood, Ontario and have been proudly treating pets in our region since 2000. We are a non-corporate, locally owned and operated multi-veterinarian practice established by Collingwood native and local resident veterinarian Dr. Jacquie Pankatz. We are centrally located to serve Collingwood, the Town of Blue Mountains, Wasaga Beach, Stayner, Creemore and the surrounding communities of Southern Georgian Bay and beyond. Living in this four-season play-ground, we welcome clients and their pets who call our region their second home. We also gladly work with clients in collaboration with their regular veterinarian who seek our ultrasound, laparoscopic, regenerative medicine and natural pet care services. New patients are warmly welcomed! We are the only veterinary hospital that is fully equipped and have surgically- trained onsite veterinarians to offer laparoscopic spay surgery north of the GTA.

Dear Valued Clients
We have received the announcement from the Ontario Government that veterinary hospitals are allowed to start seeing routine veterinary appointments again such as wellness visits, vaccinations, heartworm and Lyme disease testing as well as book in routine surgeries such as spays and neuters and dental procedures. This is great news! Since March, we have only been able to see urgent cases in house.
With these restrictions being lifted, please understand that we are not at the point of "business as usual". We are still in a state of emergency and as such we will need to continue to practice social distancing. Veterinary medicine is a high risk profession (there are stats to back this up) as our staff often need to work in close proximity to each other when treating patients. The biggest risk factor for contracting and spreading COVID-19 is still human-human transmission. Although we understand that pet owners often prefer to be present during routine appointments, the high volume of patients that we are going to need see over the next little while as we catch-up, puts our health care team in a risky position as barriers can not be reasonably used when pet owners bring in their pets and often assist in holding during appointments. Like other health care workers, health and safety has to be at the forefront of what we do.
For the time-being, curbside check-in will continue. We are continually working to make this process more efficient but this does take a little more time than walk-in appointments. Please be prepared to come in a little early and stay a little longer. We have set up numbers in a parking lot to help our staff assist you and we will be setting up outdoor seating at a social distance for those nicer days coming. End of life care appointments are a special circumstance and our team will be happy to explain our policies to deal with these situations.
We are over two months backlogged with delayed appointments and surgeries. It will take some time to catch up as we work through this list. Please be patient as we fit in routine appointments along with the urgent and emergency cases that come in. Our staff is operating at a limited capacity. We have continued our regular days and offices hours during the pandemic, but please remember, things do take a little longer right now.
Our telehealth services will continue. This has been a great addition to our practice for cases that are less urgent or for new clients wanting to acquaint with our practice and speak with our doctors.
Our webstore is booming! Getting your pet's special veterinary diets delivered directly to your home is one less step and REALLY helps us out so that our phone lines can remain open for more urgent enquires. Our phones have literally not stopped ringing since the pandemic hit and in some cases, pet owners have not been able to get through. If you can not get through, please leave a message or call back. Again, we thank-you for your patience at this time.
We are still making a huge effort to get parasite prevention medications out to our patients in an efficient manner. The risk of tick, flea and heartworm disease is high right now and it is important that our pets are protected. Easy curbside pick-up and local home delivery are available.
Our Pet Spring Tune-Up Promotion is still available and will resume with savings in wellness testing and parasite screening this time of year. We will fit these appointments in within our current capacity. Again it will take some time to get everyone in as we play catch up with our back-log.
There is light at the end of the tunnel and we look forward to the day we can see everyone in the clinic. We will take this week by week and update you with changes as we adapt to practising veterinary medicine during this time.
