and Referral Services
Dr. Jacquie Pankatz is a DVM Imaging program graduate from the Sound Academy of Veterinary Imaging in Texas and is a certified veterinary sonographer through the International Veterinary Ultrasound Society (IVUSS). She went on to become the first Canadian veterinarian to serve as President of IVUSS and is actively involved in teaching both privately and with ultrasound companies. Dr. Pankatz has performed thousands of ultrasound exams and is highly skilled in abdominal ultrasound as well as musculoskeletal, small parts (ocular, thyroid) and echocardiography (ie heart ultrasound). Dr. Pankatz travels to over 35 veterinary hospitals in our surrounding region (and the list of clients is growing) to perform ultrasound services and also provides in-hospital ultrasound as well as accepts outside referrals. With over 23 years of experience in general practice, she consults with pet owners and referring veterinarians to help achieve the highest level of care.
Dr. Pankatz has completed training in the United States (Oquendo Centre, Colorado State College of Veterinary Medicine and the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine) and Europe (European School for Advanced Veterinary Studied ESAVS in Germany) with some of the top internal medicine specialists in the field of endoscopy. Performing both flexible and rigid endoscopy, she offers a variety of endoscopic services including the examination of the upper gastrointestinal tract (pharynx, esophagus, stomach, small intestine), colon, urinary bladder, ear canal and nasal cavity. Dr. Pankatz is also trained in laparoscopic techniques including laparoscopic liver biopsy. Both in house and referral services are available.
Dr. Pankatz is currently enrolled in the International School of Post Graduate Studies General Practioner Certificate Program working toward a GPCert which further compliments her skils in ultrasound and endoscopic services. This advanced training will provide one more layer of knowledge in working up a variety of internal medicine conditions.
If you are not a regular client of Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital and think your pet may benefit from ultrasound or endoscopic services (or perhaps your veterinarian has already discussed these options) please have your regular veterinarian contact Dr. Pankatz who will discuss your case and help decide if these services may be of help. Telemedicine consultations with pet owners to discuss these diagnostic options are also available. A medical history request from your veterinarian will be required to get the most out of your consultation. Please call 705 446-0261 to make a telehealth appointment.
