Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT)

No pet should learn to live with pain. A relatively new treatment known as Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) or referred to as "Laser Therapy" is a non-invasive, non-drug way to treat pain and inflammation for a variety of conditions using light on the infra-red spectrum.  PBMT also helps damaged tissue regenerate which has a distinct advantage over anti-inflammatory and other pain medications. As part of a multi-modal approach to pain management in our hospital, a  BPMT treatment is included in all of our surgical and dental procedures to help post-operative pain and to enhance healing in our patients. PBMT is also used to help treat chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis.

Common Conditions where PBMT is recommended:

Chronic osteoarthritis and tendon/ligament injury

Post-operative cranial cruciate surgery and other orthopedics

Post-op incisions and dental surgery

Skin wounds and hotspots

Ear inflammation/infections

Anal gland abscess

Chronic gingvitis

Back pain due to disc disease
