Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT)

No pet should learn to live with pain.  Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT) or commonly referred to as "Laser Therapy" is a non-invasive, non-drug way to treat pain and inflammation for a variety of conditions using light on the infra-red spectrum.  PBMT also helps damaged tissue regenerate which has a distinct advantage over anti-inflammatory and other pain medications. As part of a multi-modal approach to pain management in our hospital, a  BPMT treatment is included in ALL of our surgical and dental procedures to help post-operative pain and to enhance healing in our patients. PBMT is also used to help treat chronic conditions such as osteoarthritis and tendon and ligament inflammatory conditions. This form of light therapy works at the cellular level and is completely painless for the patient. The warm, soothing action can increase comfort in as little as one treatment. Single treatment and multiple treatment packages are available depending on our assessment and condition being treated.

Common Conditions where PBMT is recommended:

Chronic osteoarthritis and tendon/ligament injury

Post-operative cranial cruciate surgery and other orthopedics

Post-op incisions and dental surgery

Skin wounds and hotspots

Ear inflammation/infections

Anal gland abscess

Chronic gingvitis

Back pain due to disc disease
