Fear Free Certified
I have always been a big believer in moving forward - constantly learning, constantly striving to find new ways to help pets and their owners live better lives. As the practice grew, I saw the need for adding advanced imaging diagnostics to our hospital and I developed a passion for ultrasound imaging. My main focus has been to advance my skills in this modality, working with our veterinarians as well as others in our community, to help enhance the level of veterinary care in our region. This passion for learning is also reflected in our team's ongoing dedication to life-long continuing education and training and how this can be used to positively affect pet's lives everyday. From instituting Fear Free techniques to adding minimally invasive surgery, and learning to treat chronic conditions with regenerative medicine, we strive to be on the leading edge of veterinary medicine. It's what keeps our blood pumping, our minds stimulated and gives us the joy and honour to be called veterinarians. We warmly welcome new patients and very much look forward to meeting you and your pets.
Dr. Jacquie Pankatz
Our humble hospital beginnings started in 2000 when Collingwood native and Ontario Veterinary College graduate, Dr. Jacquie Pankatz, opened Harbourview Veterinary Hospital in downtown Collingwood. By 2007 we desperately needed more space and Jacquie had a vision of creating a veterinary hospital that would serve the needs of her growing practice well, but at the same time provide a warm and caring environment for her patients, clients and members of the health care team. Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital was designed and built to reflect the character and spirit of our vibrant community. Centrally located to serve the many communities in the Southern Georgian Bay region, Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital was born on a 25 acre parcel of agricultural land just off Poplar Sideroad with the view of Blue Mountain and Osler Ski Club in the distance and just a stone's throw away from the Georgian trail system and the southern shores of Georgian Bay. At the same time, the hospital was designed to house a state of the art veterinary facility with large functional spaces and rooms specifically designed to house our surgery, x-ray, ultrasound, dental, natural medicine and regenerative medicine technology .
We are now a multi-doctor practice employing a dedicated team of veterinary technicians, assistants, customer care specialists and caring kennel workers all coming together with a common interest: the love of animals and veterinary medicine
in providing high quality veterinary care for pets in our community and beyond
in treating our clients, patients and health care team members with kindness and respect
in constantly evolving and growing through education and training to meet the changing needs of our patients
in YOU to help provide the best health care options that work for YOU and your pet
Our Fear Free Mission
As Fear Free Certified Professionals, it is our mission to recognize and to work toward alleviating fear, stress and anxiety in our patients that can be associated with veterinary visits. Through implementing Fear Free techniques in our practice, we will work toward creating a positive experience from the moment our patients leave their home to the time they spend with us at our hospital.
Welcome to Mountain Vista Veterinary Hospital
"America's Veterinarian" and founder of Fear Free, Dr. Marty Becker, visited our hospital to speak about Fear Free and to film this video about the importance of using cleaning products that are easy on our patient's sensitive noses as well as decreasing fear phermones in the environment during veterinary visits. You will see many of our team members in this video as well as "Reiley" sitting so patiently with Dr. Becker!
